The Nigerian Privacy and Data Protection Agency Act

Therefore, the following policies will apply in respect of the OLAMIOSA National E-Database:

i. Data Controller: The Membership Relations Officer, assisted by her designated appointee.

ii. Custody of Data: The National Relations Officer.

iii. The Privacy Policy

This Privacy policy issued by Our Lady of Apostles Maryway Old Students Association (OLAMIOSA) of Odo Ona, Ibadan – Abeokuta, Ibadan Oyo State  constitutes our commitment to your privacy on our administrative records, website, social media platforms and premises. 

Personal Information Collection

  1. We currently collect and process through the Membership Relations  Officer (MRO), members’ personal identifiable information (PII), that is, anything relating to members that identifies them.
  2. These PIIs include:

Maiden name

Class set 

Mobile number 

Address (optional)

Email Address 

Profession/ Occupation 

Date of Birth

Photos of members will also be collected.

Personal Information Confidentiality 

  • Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by members during member onboarding process, enrolment/registration.
  • We use the information that you have given us in order to learn members interest, make it easier to serve them more effectively, update members profile information, promote network and interaction amongst members, promote members’ interests, celebrate their successes, birthdays etc.
  • Your information is regarded as confidential and will not be divulged to any third party not a member of OLAMIOSA,  except under legal and/or regulatory obligations.

 

  • We store and process your personal information on our computers, external hard drive and other electronic storage means. They would also be used when the compendium of members is to be published. We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration.
  • Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation Act, (NDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing your PII is your consent, which you gave when you gave your information at the time of becoming a member. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to request sight of, and copies of any and all information we keep of you. You can do this by the Membership Relations Officer or her delegated representative.

PROCESS OF UPDATING E-DATABASE 

Under the supervision of the Membership Relationship Officer,  a member of the Membership Relationship Cluster who has been designated by the Membership Relationship Officer as her designated assistant for the E-Database, will be in charge of updating the E-Database on a quarterly basis, that is, every 3 months, in the following manner:

  1. Send a message to the membership Cluster representative in each chapter or the person appointed by each Chapter to monitor the admission of new members,  to ask if any new member has been admitted into the Chapter, and if yes, requesting for the following information regarding the new member:

Class set 

Mobile number 

Address (optional)

Email Address 

Profession/ Occupation 

Date of Birth
